A delightful and refreshing herbal iced tea made from butterfly pea flowers, celebrated for its vibrant blue color and numerous health benefits.

Ingredients

  • 12 tablespoons dried butterfly pea flowers
  • Juice of 1 lemon or lime (optional)
  • Sweetener (honey or agave, optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a kettle or saucepan for about 5 minutes.
  2. Once boiling, turn off the heat and stir in the dried butterfly pea flowers.
  3. Let the flowers steep for approximately 10 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea into a pitcher, removing the flowers.
  5. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  6. If desired, add lemon or lime juice for flavor and aesthetics.
  7. Pour the tea over ice and add sweetener if preferred, garnishing with fresh mint if desired.

Notes

For best results, avoid using too much butterfly pea flowers to prevent bitterness; steep for at least 10 minutes for optimal flavor.
