Homemade Gelatin

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cold water or fruit juice (for blooming gelatin)
  • 1 cup water or fruit juice (for heating)
  • Gelatin powder or sheets (as per package instructions)
  • Sweeteners (like honey or stevia)
  • Flavorings (like vanilla extract or fruit puree)

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients: gelatin, water or juice, sweeteners, and flavorings.
  2. Bloom the gelatin by sprinkling it over 1/4 cup cold water or juice and letting it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Heat 1 cup of water or juice in a saucepan until boiling, then remove from heat.
  4. Stir the bloomed gelatin into the warm liquid until fully dissolved and smooth. Add sweeteners and flavorings if desired.
  5. Pour the mixture into molds or a dish.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours or until set.
  7. Once set, remove from molds and serve chilled.

Notes

Experiment with different flavorings and sweeteners to suit your taste. Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
